Yay Summer vacation is nigh Yey
As I wrote in the previous post, I think I would not have many photographing opportunities for couple years at least.
But I should not miss this one. SHOULD.NOT.MISS.
I think you all know who my favorite skaters are. But I'm going to specify here. My favorite male skaters of all time are Kurt Browning, Alexei Yagudin and Patrick Chan. (In descending order) They changed my point of view on skating.
And what would you do if two of them are skating at the same event for the first time and you can actually go to watch them skate, with conquerable difficulties?
So I'm going to Artistry on Ice 2011 held in China! Wheeeeeeee!!
I always dreamed of this situation and it's gonna happen much earlier than I expected actually. I'm glad, soooooo GLAD that the deadly summer heat of Beijing and extraordinary humidity of Shanghai would not be a single problem! (at least for now, I think...) I like being in China BTW; I have been there for three times and always enjoyed my time in there. Food was great (I know some people hate the chinese spice; I am certainly not) and the energy from people was overwhelming. Cannot wait the departure day!
And hell yea, Kurt and Patrick will skate together here in Korea in August. As always photographing will not be allowed but the participants list is my dream cast so far I feel obligated to go:) Full of skating this summer! ...well, not so filled but two events would be enough for me, I hope...
So if I return from China w/o any accidental situation I'll inform here whether I could take some pics. Hope they allow me to use my camera. That's one of the main reason to go to China in this HOOOOOOOT July, anyway!

Well there is a big show in Korea...
And they allow taking photos w/o flash....
And I cannot go! Damn work, damn work schedule, damn financial status... :P
Actually it's OK to give up the show, but I lost a great shooting chance again. :-( That makes me devastated. But no PChan, no V/M, no Canadian skaters.. For me, this single fact made the show much less fascinating. and of course, lots of tasks including multiple meet-up w/ counterparts scheduled next week. So I gave up, am now staying my cozy bedroom, preparing my monthly meet-up.
Conclusions? For someone have come here expecting this weekend's show : No photo, sorry! I'll have merely no chance of taking FS photos in couple years after all unless my situation changes drastically. But I'll never sell my camera, since there might be a tiny chance even if it's a small domestic comp. for Grade 1-3! Actually I LOVE to take photos of tiny pre-novice skaters! :D

Long time no see! My photos from Jr. Worlds (and others)
Hi there! Long time no see. It's almost been an year!
I've been a couple of FS events this year. But most of them did not allow me to take pics with my DSLR so I could only use my Nikon P100 which is a good point-n-shoot cam but not appropriate for sports photography. Therefore the overall quality of photos were bad, baaaaaaaad so I did not post them here. Finally I got a chance at Jr. Worlds in Gangneung, South Korea and took some nice ones. (Even though I had biz trip throughout the week and was able to attend Saturday's event only)
Since it took so much time to upload photos in here directly I decided to post my flicker link instead. If you want to see Men's free skating photo (Last 11 skaters only-I was late! I missed Liam!! :-( How stupid I am :-( ) plz go here .
Also, if you want Ladies free skate photo (24 skaters) you can watch them here .
There are some low-quality photos from 4CC (in Taipei) and Canadian Nationals (in Victoria) as well. Simply go to my flicker and choose the set you want to see! :)
